Ethereum Foundation Grants Over $8.47M in Q2 2024 for Ecosystem Growth
The Ethereum Foundation has announced that it provided over $8.47 million in funding to various projects during the second quarter of 2024. These funds are expected to be used to promote the development of the Ethereum ecosystem, with investments in several sectors.
The largest share of the funding was invested in community and education. The Ethereum Foundation funded conferences and hackathons in different countries such as ETH Beijing, ETH Tokyo, and ETH Warsaw. Such activities are crucial for the development of community and educational initiatives within the Ethereum ecosystem and for the consolidation of the worldwide Ethereum community.
Ethereum Foundation Backs Developer Tools and Cryptography Research
For cryptography and zero-knowledge proofs, the foundation supported multi-developmental work including Anon Aadhaar protocol research and projects like cryptographic operations including Faster Scalar Multiplication of Elliptic Curves. These are expected to enhance the security and efficiency of the cryptographic processes involved in Ethereum, making the whole platform more reliable.
To improve the developer experience, the Ethereum Foundation has provided funding for tools like the Circom Language Server and the MEDGA Solidity Debugger. These tools are intended to enhance the effectiveness of developers who use Ethereum so that they can develop and integrate their ideas into the platform.
Besides project-specific grants, the Ethereum Foundation supported other programs as well: Cryptoversidad last round of public goods funding and the Road to Devcon quadratic funding for SE Asia. Support was maintained for the Account Abstraction Core Team and the Ethereum Protocol Fellowship (EPF) together with other projects like L2BEAT, Ephemery Testnet, and Summer of Protocols.
This holistic funding strategy shows that the Ethereum Foundation cares about the development of a diverse and creative ecosystem that will allow Ethereum to grow and flourish in the rapidly developing context of blockchain technologies.
