Yuga Labs CEO Greg Solano, also known as Garga, has announced the formation of a groundbreaking internal team named The Workshop, his first big endeavor since becoming CEO in February. This new team aims to “create delightful shit, on-chain, fast,” featuring a focus on innovative product development and speedy deployment on the future ApeChain network.

Inspired by Coinbase’s deployment of the Base Layer 2 blockchain, Solano created The Workshop in order to develop a creative and agile atmosphere free of standard corporate practices. In a recent X post, Solano described The Workshop as a lean team of 13 outstanding engineers and product experts who are committed to delivering high-impact products quickly. The team will prioritize employing products that acquire traction while eliminating those that do not, reflecting an approach of swift, effective innovation.

Focus on ApeChain and Rapid Innovation.

The Workshop will create and set up products on ApeChain, Yuga Labs‘ new Ethereum Layer 2 network powered by Arbitrum and backed by Offchain Labs and Horizen Labs. This program is intended to strengthen the Yuga Labs ecosystem and increase the usage of the ApeCoin token. Solano noted the team’s dedication to agile development and its role in reviving Yuga Labs’ approach to NFTs, despite the difficult market conditions for NFT-related initiatives.

With ApeCoin’s market price down over 57% since last August, The Workshop represents Yuga Labs’ deliberate commitment to adapt and prosper by focusing on rapid, innovative product launches and efficient operations.

The new strategy follows a firm restructure in April, which aimed to streamline processes and increase creative output. As Yuga Labs adjusts to a more demanding climate for NFT-related projects, The Workshop is a deliberate step to revitalize and develop in the blockchain space.
