The crypto community marked the 2020 Giving Tuesday Now global giving event in style, with industry leaders like Bitcoin gaming brand Bitcasino coming together with crypto aid organization The Giving Block to launch the “Donate, Dance, Decentralize” D3 virtual concert in support of non-profits on the front lines of the battle against COVID-19.

Bitcasino agreed to chip in with sponsorship funds, necessary to locate the performers at such short notice, on the condition that leftover monies be granted to the charities. In addition, as official sponsors of English football club Watford FC, the crypto casino also promised a free Watford FC Bitcoin jersey to 100 donors who have at least $50 on the May 5th event.

This itself was only the final event that Bitcasino supported in relation to COVID-19 fundraising, itself already running its own aid campaign for three weeks in the ‘Crypto vs COVID-19’ event, where players donated unused loyalty rewards to the cause. By early May, Bitcasino looks set to match all donated loyalty points, helping reach Bitcoin Tuesday’s #cryptoCOVID19’s milestone of $100,000.

The four-hour charity concert was streamed live over Twitch TV, allowing any user to watch some of the latest in electronic dance music, courtesy of American performers illGates, Kill Paris, 3LAU and RAC, who gave international viewers a sight and sound treat.

Alongside the performance, users could donate in a wide range of crypto like Bitcoin, Ether and Litecoin, to any number of charities they wanted, such as Hope for Haiti, Mona Foundation, Trees for the Future and Children’s Heart Unit Fund.

United In Crypto, Together Against COVID-19

GivingTuesday‘s global network of businesses, individuals, societies and organizations come together every year on May 5th, to urge their communities to give generously, advocating for grassroots giving and citizen engagement as a precursor for philanthropy. This year, as the entire world faces down the COVID-19 pandemic, the event centers around support for all those vulnerable people affected by the virus

Tauri Tiitsaar, Bitcasino’s Director of Casino, declared:

“Standing with the crypto community and supporting the efforts to tackle COVID-19, which has left a mark on so many lives, is one of the most important things we’ve ever done. The human crisis we’re witnessing is something we’ve never been challenged with before and everyone has been under so much stress, but together we’re stronger in these unprecedented times.”

Tauri also said that Bitcasino’s participation in the event reflected its mission statement to always be a “fun, fast and fair crypto company”, using an enjoyable social activity to still bring more generosity to the world at large.

Bitcasino is a regular supporter of charitable causes, and feels obliged to show solidarity for global causes as a representative of the crypto community. It hopes, in the spirit of Giving Tuesday Now, to incite others in the crypto industry to also contribute to worthy causes.
