Trump’s Sneaker Site Is Selling Bitcoin-Themed Sneakers

The Trump Sneakers website, an online store he declared fully owned in his 2023 financial disclosure, listed Bitcoin-themed high-top and low-top shoes right after he concluded his speech at BTC 2024. These sneakers cost as much as $499.

Resellers have already flooded secondary markets like eBay with it, listing it for as much as five times the original price. Some were seen with an asking price of $2,500. If people are shelling out that amount is yet to be known.

Nevertheless, the most expensive ones in the Trump store, worth $499, were sold at a fixed, limited quantity of 1,000 pairs and are sold out. They came in one color – orange. The description for these sneakers reads, “Introducing the Trump Crypto President High Tops in Bitcoin Orange. These exclusive sneakers celebrate the future of finance and the leadership of President Trump, boldly emblazoned with a prominent Bitcoin symbol. The rich Bitcoin Orange design, accented with the American flag, symbolizes strength and innovation.”

The other sneakers boasting the Bitcoin logo are also limited to 1,000 pairs but have not sold out. With a lower price tag of $299, one design is a low-top version of the orange high tops that have sold out. The other comes in black and are high tops.

These Bitcoin-themed sneakers also have “TRUMP CRYPTO PRESIDENT” printed on them, referring to his support for the asset class and his remarks from a few months ago. Trump proclaimed he would be the ‘crypto president’ if elected.

Furthermore, in the conference that preceded the sneaker launch, Trump vowed to fire Gary Gensler, the SEC chair, whose actions have kept the industry back in the US, if elected. He also stated that he would ensure the 213,239 BTC seized by US authorities and stored in government wallets would not be sold.
