Koios to Launch Global Marketplace for AI Services

Global investment in AI technologies grows exponentially as global industries are seeking to integrate innovative solutions to automate their processes and streamline daily operations. By 2021, the world spending on AI systems is forecasted to reach CAGR of 50.1%, what demonstrates the huge promise of the AI sector. However, there is still a lot of unexplored potential within the market, while high entry barriers make it less attractive for new players.

Koios is a blockchain-based project that aims to democratize AI by offering an open marketplace for AI services. The platform may be compared to existing online stores like Google Play or Apple Store, as it will enable users to develop, distribute and buy AI content in a single marketplace.

“I think the main point we are trying to articulate in the market is that we are trying to create a platform that will accelerate innovation, it’s not a cash-grab for us. We actually only have a 5% allocation for the team,” says the project’s founder Marcus Bowles. “It’s truly about democratizing AI.”

According to Marcus, the key goal of the project is to provide an opportunity for skilled developers without a medium or finances to build AI and thus contribute to the industry growth. The team claims to have major experience in the AI industry, unlike other projects in the blockchain sector, and has managed projects worth up to hundreds millions of dollars.

With Koios, developers will be able to monetize their services using the platform’s native tokens. KOIs will be used as the official currency of the platform, allowing users to make transactions when acquiring AI products.

The ecosystem will consist of three main components: the AI Lab, the Titan Protocol, and the Neural Net. The first one, the AI Lab, will serve as a library of instruments and machine learning toolkits that will help developers to create their own AI programs. The Titan Protocol will allow users to contribute to AI development by renting their computational power in exchange for the KOI tokens. Finally, the Neural Net will serve as a marketplace where consumers from all over the world will be able to purchase AI and ML content, including machine learning algorithms, chatbots, language translation, unstructured and structured data.

People can participate in the pre-sale that will begin on June 1, 2018, and continue till June 4, 2018. The maximum supply is 1,000,000,000 tokens and 400,000,000 of them will be available during the sale. The hard cap is set at $15,000,000 USD. The main crowdsale will happen later, from June 15, 2018, till June 29, 2018.
